More commonly known as Bob Marley and the Wailers, The Wailers initially formed when Hubert “Peter Tosh” Winston McIntosh, Neville “Bunny Wailer” Livingston and Robert “Bob” Nesta Marley crossed paths in 1963. Just two years later, the ska band debuted their album The Wailing Wailers.
The Wailing Wailers includes songs like the band’s rendition of “What’s New Pussycat?” placing their own simultaneously relaxed but uptempo spin on the popular title. Bob Marley’s iconic “One Love” makes an appearance on the album in its original form, relaying the vibrant and electrifying spirit of ska. The album showcases The Wailers’ brimming talent, their debut of what they had to offer as their careers began to take off.
