What began as the backing band for soul duo Simtec & Wylie blossomed into American soul and funk group The South Side Movement from Chicago, IL. Releasing their debut album in 1973 and disbanding in 1975, The South Side Movement's legacy could have dissipated but has since been sampled by artists such as the Beastie Boys, Cormega, Erykah Badu, and Beck.
Limited to 1000 copies, the VMP exclusive version of The South Side Movement's The South Side Movement (50th Anniversary Edition) is pressed on Brown vinyl at Gotta Groove Records. The 1LP will arrive in a single, direct-to-board, foil-stamped and numbered jacket. It was mastered by Mike Milcher at Sonic Vision Mastering.
