The Hold Steady's ninth studio album, The Price of Progress, leads with a heavy but nimble single following a character dreaming of stardom while slipping into madness. By the final verse of “Sideways Skull,” the narrator reveals that he himself is in a band called The Price of Progress, that has "a reputation as New Hampshire’s hardest.” As the song ends, still “no one listens/ But it’s sure nice to meet some fellow musicians.”
Limited to 750 copies, the VMP exclusive version of The Hold Steady's The Price of Progress is pressed on Metallic Silver vinyl at Independent Record Pressing (IRP). The 1LP will arrive in a single, direct-to-board, foil-stamped and numbered jacket.
