Recorded in 1972, Hear, Sense and Feel is The Awakening's debut album and only album to be released by a group on Black Jazz. The group's sprawling origins derive from Chicago's Association for the Advancement of Creative Musicians, of which The Awakening's Reggie Willis (bass) and Ari Brown (flute, tenor saxophone) were members of, and Young Holt Unlimited, an ensemble which touted Frank Gordon (trumpet) and Ken Chaney (keyboard) as part of its lineup.
The VMP exclusive edition of The Awakening's Hear, Sense and Feel is pressed on 1LP Natural with Black Swirl vinyl. The record will arrive in a single direct-to-board, foil stamped and hand numbered jacket and includes a two-page insert. The reissue is mastered by Mike Milchner of Sonic Vision Mastering.
