Why you'll love it...
Sinn Sisamouth was called the Elvis of Cambodia for a reason: he was the country's biggest musical star in the '50s and '60s, where he blended the sounds of rock, funk, and blues with indigenous musics. A crooner by trade, his music remained insanely popular in Cambodia until the Khmer Rouge took over the country. Sisamouth was publically against the Khmer Rouge, and disappeared after being taken into their custody during the 1975 revolution. His music has made an impact globally when its appeared in comps and in documentaries, but this collection serves as a great way to learn the music of a true rebel and iconoclast from a world time has forgotten.
