Formed in the same Athens scene that spawned the B-52s and REM, Pylon were America's best answer to the knotty, gnarly post-punk of British bands like Gang of Four and New Order. But Pylon retained Athens' fun-loving vibe: their songs were complex and sounded like they might electrocute you, but you could dance to them, and they always sounded like they were having a party you wanted to be a part of. Their first album was Gyrate an album that will make you do just that. Out of print on vinyl since the late '80s, it's back on vinyl here thanks to our pals at New West.
