Because Ice Cube left the group before its creation, and because Dre left after, NWA's sophomore album feels like a forgotten, misbegotten album, one that came after all the Raiders jerseys, the arrests, and the mayhem from coast to coast. But what gets lost, in the NWA narrative, is how crazy the record is; Eazy E does a country song on here, and it works. The album has mostly been crammed onto 1 LPs or Picture discs since its release, we decided to give this a Record of the Month-esque treatment here, with Ryan Smith cutting lacquers, and the VMP treatment on everything else.
