Charles Mingus Presents Charles Mingus is Charles Mingus at peak, unrelenting freedom. The sessions were recorded in 1960 after Nat Hentoff brought the double bassist to perform with no restrictions for the label Candid. He brought along Ted Curson on the trumpet, Eric Dolphy on the alto saxophone and bass clarinet and Dannie Richmond on drums.
The VMP edition of this reissue is pressed on 1LP 180g Opaque Blue vinyl at Independent Record Pressing. It's limited to 1,000 copies, foil stamped and hand numbered on a single tip-on jacket. The record is remastered by Bernie Grundman from the original master tapes.
