It's difficult to think of two words that describe the joys of summer better than "watermelon" and "margarita", and in light of that we want to make sure you know how to make the drink that's created when you bring those two words together in beautiful matrimony. Here's how to make a watermelon margarita:

INGREDIENTS


  • 4 ounces silver tequila

  • 1 ounce St. Germain Elderflower liqueur

  • 3 cups seedless watermelon cut into rough 1 1/2inch cubes

  • 2 ounces fresh lime juice (roughly 34 limes)

  • 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt

  • (makes 2 drinks)


PREPARATION


Place all ingredients in a blender and puree until smooth. Strain through a finemesh strainer into a pitcher, using the bottom of a spatula or spoon or fist (kidding...maybe?) to press liquid through strainer. Pour into two icefilled serving glasses and enjoy!

Kieran Hebden (Four Tet) told us he likes watermelon juice among other things and it just so happens that watermelon, when mixed with tequila, St. Germain & a few other ingredients produces an elixir that elicits much celebratory joy...a cocktail that squeezes the last drops out of summer and tips its hat to a masterful album from one of our generation’s greatest musicians.
