A radical departure that exploded the possibilities of his art, Sufjan Stevens' Age of Adz still feels ahead of its time. It's a blast of electronica, layered over and orchestra, with Sufjan playing the pop maestro in the center, willing things into being where there was nothing. An underrated gem in his catalog--particularly against the twin indie touchstones Carrie and Lowell and Illinoise, our limited to 1100 copy version is a good excuse to enter the Age of Adz.
