Fifty years after its first release, we have Bill Withers' Just As I Am. One of his most popular songs to this day – even making it onto Rolling Stone's list of the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time – "Ain't No Sunshine," is the second track on the album. Another extremely well-known hit from the album is the other single, "Grandma's Hands."
Booker T. Jones produced, arranged and played keyboards and guitar on Just As I Am, alongside bassist Donald "Duck" Dunn and drummer Al Jackson Jr. of Booker T. & the M.G.'s, with Stephen Stills on lead guitar. With the exception of two cover tracks ("Everybody's Talkin'" and "Let It Be"), Withers wrote every song on the album.
