Let’s get one thing straight: Akiko Yano is a legend. Her 1976 debut, Japanese Girl, solidified her as a creative powerhouse – seamlessly blending jazz, pop, and traditional Japanese music into a style fully her own. In May of 1996 Yano released Piano Nightly, which finds Yano returning to her jazz piano roots, consisting of just Yano’s voice and the piano, Piano Nightly is an intimate and delicate snapshot of Yano at her most sensitive.
Limited to 1,000 copies pressed at Furnace Record Pressing, we have Piano Nightly on 180 gram black vinyl.
