As you may have heard, members of Vinyl Me, Please Essentials are getting the first-ever vinyl release of The Stooges with its original John Cale mix intact for this month’s Record of the Month. But today we’re also announcing the next two months of Essentials records as well. Fans of rock music will be pleased.
First, more on our release of The Stooges. Coming on 180g red and black galaxy vinyl, and on vinyl for the first time, you can read our essay about The Stooges, and learn more about our reissue here, and watch this video about the album below:
In May, Vinyl Me, Please Essentials members will receive a brand new reissue of Stevie Nicks’ Bella Donna, coming on 180g blue and black galaxy vinyl, and remastered AAA from the original master tapes by Ryan Smith from Sterling Sound. The album was Stevie Nicks’ solo debut after years in Fleetwood Mac and Buckingham/Nicks, and features the still-sensational singles “Edge of Seventeen” and “Stop Dragging My Heart Around.” You can hear the latter here:
And, finally, in June, the Essentials Record of the Month is the 20th-anniversary edition of the sophomore album from The White Stripes, De Stijl. We worked closely with the band and Third Man Records on this release, as they asked us to do this reissue to accompany their release of De Stijl rarities in Third Man Vault. This edition of the album will come on red and black splatter vinyl, and comes with a multi-page lyric booklet. Let’s listen to “Death Letter” together while we wait for June:
