Stax of Wax - Tape Delay

In this episode of Stax of Wax we decided to put a name to a sound that runs rampant in all music. This sound does not discriminate by era, genre, or even tempo. The sound we are speaking about is created by an analog recording technique (originally created in the pre-digital era in the 1940s) called "Tape Delay". By using two reel-to-reel recorders artists and producers could reverse their tracks, speed them up, slow them down, and even do all different kinds of time delay modulation to individual tracks and full mixes to create brand new sounds that would eventually define certain genres.
