Dancing is still legal here! To celebrate the 40th anniversary of Footloose, VMP has made this special edition of the film's Kenny Loggins-heavy soundtrack, which features illustrations of Kevin Bacon, and comes in a package that pays homage to Ren's shoes in the film. Feel free to dance in the sheets, and cut loose with this release.
From the Designer, Alan Hynes:
"A venerable saying in design lore advises ‘When in doubt make it red. If still in doubt, make it bigger.’ So that's pretty much the approach I took when tasked with creating new packaging for a movie soundtrack that's turning 40 years old, and has already seen countless releases over the years. But thankfully it's also a great soundtrack - I'm a big fan of Steinman...

The vinyl is housed in a custom-designed package with fantastic illustrations by Johnny Dombrowski throughout, including a dynamic interior reveal. Doing double duty as a lace, the OBI is threaded through die cut eyelets and ties the whole bespoke package together."
From Johnny Dombrowski:
“Watching the rebellious teenagers in Footloose’s Bomont, I thought about every and any way I tried to express myself when I was their age: listening to loud music, wearing band t-shirts and baggy pants, drawing and passing notes in class, etc. With that in mind, I wanted to show that young creativity somehow in the interior illustrations, paired with that iconic red sneaker exterior. All of the ways the kids learn who they are as individuals, like doodles drawn in the margins of notebooks. The elements that really come to light once Ren moves into town. He’s the spark that sets the town, and its youth, ablaze with a need to live their own lives. What better way than to dance your ass off?”
